Location: Guildford, Surrey Pay: £100-£115 per day Contract: Full-Time Long-Term Start Date: September 2026

A welcoming SEND school in Guildford, Surrey is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with children and wants to support pupils both academically, socially, and emotionally.

The Role

• Support pupils during lessons and classroom activities.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to help reinforce learning.
• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence, and resilience.
• Support pupils with additional learning needs, including SEND where required.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and emotional wellbeing.
• Help pupils access the curriculum through tailored support and encouragement.
• Support pupils during wider school activities, routines, and transitions.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, ASD, or additional needs is beneficial.
• Patient, supportive, and approachable.
• Confident working with pupils of different abilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to follow instructions while also using initiative.
• Reliable, enthusiastic, and committed.
• Passionate about supporting children's learning, development, and wellbeing.
• Graduates looking to gain school-based experience are encouraged to apply.
