Job Description

Our client based in Maidenhead is currently recruiting for Learning and Development advisor to join their busy team on a 3 month contract. This is to cover sickness and is unlikely to be extended beyond the 3 months.

The role will be hybrid with 2-3 days per week in the office. There is parking available. Working hours are full time Monday to Friday 8.15am-5.15pm.

Key duties include:

  • To lead on the development of a strong L&D culture throughout the organisation, finding innovative ways to inspire others and by leading with personal example.
  • In conjunction with the People Services Manager, create the annual L&D plan to align learning to corporate priorities and identify annual budget requirements. This will include both renewal of regular planned/compliance learning activities within specified timescales, and partnering with managers throughout the organisation to proactively identify and forecast additional L&D needs.
  • Take ownership for delivering the annual L&D plan so that activity is sourced to achieve learning objectives, organised, delivered and recorded on systems within agreed timescales and within agreed budget.
  • Negotiate with external providers to ensure maximum value for money and programmes are highly tailored to the needs of the organisation.
  • Research, design and deliver in-house innovative and engaging L&D programmes using a variety of methods to meet organisation specific L&D needs. Including but not limited to management development programme, induction, performance management processes, equality/diversity/inclusion, professional boundaries and customer service.
  • Oversee the roll out of essential e-learning, monitor completion rates, and put measures in place to achieve 100% completion within target date.
  • Proactively promote the L&D activities and successes to the organisation through regular and engaging communication utilising a variety of channels to engage all colleagues.
  • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of learning outcomes to ensure learning is successful and value for money, making and implementing recommendations to further improve value of learning activities.
  • Organise, be an ambassador for and lead on the recruitment for career development programmes such as apprenticeships, work experience and undergraduate placements to benefit both the individual and the organisation.
  • Support managers throughout the organisation in planning and delivering an effective and professional induction and personal development plan for new joiners.
  • Support managers to use the performance management framework effectively and work collaboratively with the People Services Manager to be the HR lead on key stages of the cycle, including setting SMART objectives, creation of personal development plans, and review processes.
  • Ensure that systems are fully utilised to digitise and improve the efficiency of L&D processes.
  • Support the Assistant Director of People Services in succession planning for the organisation.
  • Provide effective line management and leadership for the Learning Coordinator, including setting objectives, PDP whilst overseeing all L&D administration to ensure accurate and efficient completion.
  • Coach and support employees on an individual basis in response to their needs to improve performance.
  • To take on other duties commensurate with this post as directed/delegated by the People Services Manager.
