Senior Software Development Lead - Data Engineering (Snowflake Focus)
Location: Bucharest, Romania (Hybrid) - Candidates must be based in Bucharest. No relocation or fully remote options.
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We're seeking a Senior Software Development Lead to drive the strategy and delivery of scalable, high-performance data solutions. With a strong focus on Snowflake and cloud platforms, this role blends hands-on engineering with technical leadership to shape modern data infrastructure and software development practices.

This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility while still requiring a consistent presence in Bucharest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of data solutions using Snowflake and modern cloud technologies.

  • Define engineering standards, mentor developers, and guide the delivery of critical projects.

  • Translate business needs into secure, scalable architectures.

  • Identify and integrate emerging technologies and tools.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical solutions effectively.

Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • Deep hands-on experience with Snowflake (advanced modelling, optimization, and security).

  • Proven experience in data engineering and building large-scale data pipelines.

  • Strong skills in SQL, Python, CI/CD, and containerization.

  • Solid knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP, and tools such as GitLab.

  • Demonstrated leadership in delivering software solutions and mentoring teams.

Nice-to-Have:

  • SnowPro Certification, BigQuery or Databricks experience.

  • Familiarity with Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools.

  • Experience with multiple programming languages (eg, Python, Java, .NET, Go).

Location Requirement

You must be based in Bucharest, Romania to be considered.
Relocation is not supported, and this requirement is non-negotiable.

This is a hybrid working role - combining in-office collaboration with flexible remote days.
