Job Description

Lead Software Developer - Milton Keynes - Hybrid (2 days in office) - Up to 85K + Bonus + 25 Days Holiday + 2 Wellbeing Days + Private Healthcare

We are seeking a highly motivated Lead Software Developer to join an award-winning software consultancy serving both the public and private sectors, headquartered in Milton Keynes. The technical team includes over 40 professionals such as Developers, Business Analysts, Software Testers, Product Owners, and Project Managers.

This role is ideal for an experienced Senior or Lead Software Developer eager to make a tangible impact within a growing and successful organization. The company employs over 120 staff and generates a turnover exceeding £25 million.

The company values sharing ideas, encouraging innovation, and supporting creativity. The Lead Software Developer will be involved in all project phases from conception to launch. The environment is relaxed yet professional, with a hybrid work model requiring two days in the office per week.

Lead Software Developer Key Skills:
  1. Scaled Agile Planning: Understanding of Agile Framework (SAFe) principles, managing project increments and iterations to achieve business objectives.
  2. Team Leadership: Mentoring, guiding, and supporting team members' personal and technical growth. Providing feedback and development opportunities to enhance performance and career progression.
  3. Code & Architecture Oversight: Leading code and architecture reviews to uphold high standards and ensure consistency across projects.
  4. Quality Assurance: Owning the team's quality output, embedding robust testing, code quality, and system reliability practices.
  5. An appreciation and keen interest in AI.

  4. Azure or AWS Services (IAM, Lambda, API Gateway)

While expertise in all technologies is not expected, a strong foundational knowledge and a passion for learning are essential.
