Lead Project Engineer - Offshore Power Cable Installation

WTS Energy is looking for a Lead Project Engineer - Offshore Power Cable Installation to join our client's team in the Rotterdam area, the Netherlands.

In this role, you'll be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary engineering team across the full scope of offshore cable installation projects-including cable burial and repair operations. You'll serve as the key technical interface between internal engineers, subcontractors, and the client, ensuring seamless coordination and delivery to the highest technical standards.

Responsibilities:

• Lead engineering activities and interface management across project stakeholders, subcontractors, and clients.
• Manage and support a team of Project Engineers delivering technical solutions for cable installation scopes.
• Coordinate internal and external engineering specialists conducting detailed calculations.
• Represent the engineering team in client meetings and manage expectations.
• Support vessel mobilization and de-mobilization, and conduct project briefings and debriefings.
• Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and documentation standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Offshore Energy, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in offshore power cable installation projects.
• Proven leadership in technical engineering teams and interface management.
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English (spoken and written).
• Based in the Netherlands or willing to relocate; open to hybrid working and occasional offshore trips.
• Hands-on attitude with a strong team spirit and commitment to Health & Safety standards.

Location: Rotterdam area with the option for partial remote work and occasional offshore travel.
