Job Description

Do you have proven experience developing and managing detailed programmes for major civil engineering or infrastructure projects (preferably using P6 or MS Project)?

Can you demonstrate a strong understanding of the commercial and contractual implications of programme changes on NEC based projects?

The Opportunity

This role offers the chance to take a leading position within a major infrastructure delivery team, ensuring that planning, scheduling and performance reporting are delivered to the highest standard. You will help drive programme certainty, support construction delivery, and contribute to efficient, collaborative project performance

Your duties and responsibilities will be
  • Evaluate contract documents to build and maintain detailed programmes specifying time and resource requirements.
  • Assist Package Managers with planning related matters.
  • Review construction progress with input from delivery teams, update programmes and produce required reports.
  • Collate progress information and produce weekly and monthly reporting, including dashboards and work plans.
  • Highlight areas of concern regarding construction progress and review mitigation measures with the Planning Lead and construction teams.
  • Evaluate scope changes, additional work orders and other elements, coordinating with the commercial team on cost and contractual implications.
  • Attend meetings with project teams, clients and third parties.
  • Liaise with client planners and package managers as required.
  • Support site teams with planning matters and ensure planning techniques are consistently applied.
  • Assist in monitoring requirements for planning resources, including hardware and software.
  • Assist in preparing resourced programmes and review outputs for conformance with expectations.
  • Prepare visual material to support planned methods and undertake programme risk analysis.
  • Provide a communication link for planning information between all parties.
  • Ensure the project is completed on or ahead of time.
  • Manage programming of compensation events and early programming for coordinated interface management.
  • Produce internal and external programmes throughout the project lifecycle.
You will have the following qualifications & experience
  • Extensive experience in civil engineering or an HNC in a construction?related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and outputs.
  • Experience using a wide range of planning techniques for both tendering and contract delivery.
  • Clear understanding of commercial and contractual interfaces with the planning function.
  • Competent use of industry software and strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Project.
It's great if you also have the following
  • Experience preparing visual planning material and undertaking programme risk analysis.
  • Familiarity with collaborative working environments involving clients, subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to support recruitment, performance management and continuous improvement within the planning function.
