Wood is recruiting for a Lead Piping Engineer to join its Upstream business within our Operations team focusing on providing structural engineering support to the Client contract and execute work in accordance with applicable contract procedures, client and project standards.

Wood is recruiting for a Lead Piping Engineer to join its Upstream business within our Operations team focusing on providing piping engineering support to the Client contract and execute work in accordance with applicable contract procedures, client and project standards.

The Role

We are currently growing our project and modification portfolio which includes projects in full lifecycles ranging from early Study / FEED into detail design.

In this role the Lead Piping Engineer will use their technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments and produce engineering deliverables.

Our Upstream team will continue to play an important role in providing energy security. We design, engineer, build, operate and maintain the most complex assets in the world, in the harshest of environments, providing solutions across the asset life cycle from concept to decommissioning.

Responsibilities for Internal Candidates Scope of Work
  • Provide Piping engineering support to the Client contract as required
  • Execute assigned work in accordance with applicable contract procedures, client and project standards
  • Originate and check piping engineering deliverables as required on Client Contract within budget and schedule
  • Ensure self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology
  • Manage discipline CTR's, provide input to estimates, proposals, plans and progress
  • Develop calculation packages as required
  • Present and describe engineering solutions and concept competently to both technical and non-technical audience
  • Support quality & technical assurance activities as required
Qualifications for Internal Candidates What makes you remarkable? Expected:
  • Degree in engineering discipline,alternatively, tertiary level education combined with suitable industry experience can be used to demonstrate equivalence
  • professional knowledge and extensive progressive experience in generalengineering
  • Ability to discover issues and recommend solutions to technical and commercial issues uncoveredduring course of performing assignments
  • Proficient user of relevant software and calculation templates
  • Professional level of ability in the application of standards, processes and procedures and how theyare used in work execution
  • Chartered Engineer
Responsibilities
  • Support both the Client and Wood Engineering Manager in the delivery of the work.
  • Execute process engineering activities within the budget and schedule, as well as maintaining technical integrity.
  • Ensure the work confirms with Client's and Wood's codes and standards.
  • Participate in technical meetings and handle discussions with Client engineers
  • Chemical Engineering Degree
  • Chartered Engineer status
  • Experience of working on and leading Studies, FEED and EPC projects associated with O&G.
  • Proven core Engineering skills, including design experience
  • A self-motivated, proactive individual with high achievement drive and initiative, excellent verbal and written communication skills and good organisational awareness
  • Ability to impact and influence fellow workers
  • Demonstration of customer focus and ability to respond to customer needs whilst achieving project and corporate objectives
  • Demonstrate successful project delivery to take ownership of tasks and understand the impact on other deliverables and disciplines
