On behalf of HM Land Registry we are looking for a Lead Network Architect (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract. Hybrid working with 3 days per week required in Plymouth.

In this role you will lead the design of HM Land Registry's (HMLR) network architecture, linking the strategic aims of the organisation to a cohesive network architecture that delivers a cost effective, maintainable, secure technology estate. This role is aligned to the Lead Network Architect role within the Government Digital and Data Profession.
The post holder will provide architectural leadership within our Network Optimisation projects. They will work with project stakeholders inside and outside of the organisation to ensure the successful delivery of the projects. They will have responsibility for the technical design of our network solutions, ensuring alignment with our Technology Strategy, Standards and Patterns
As a Lead Network Architect your main responsibilities will be to:
. Develop and implement an architecture solution that supports the organisation's technology strategy, including the associated architectural standards, principal and roadmaps
. Engage with senior stakeholders to establish future needs to ensure that the structure is suitable for the future as well as for right now
. Act as technical designer and expert authority for major programmes of work
. Build strategic partnerships with key suppliers, other government departments and wider industry bodies to deliver the strategy, ensuing that the technical choices of the organisation evolve at pace with technological change
. Use technology to drive innovation and value for money within HMLR
. Provide leadership, support and clarity to the organisations technical architecture function.
. Operate across the organisation and technology functions to drive common approaches with a cohesive strategic outcome.
Essential:
. An active SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. (Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.)
. Expertise in datacentre network technologies, particularly Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI).
. Expertise in SD-WAN technologies, deployed within a complex multi-site environment.
. Familiarity with HMG technology standards including NCSC Network Architectures and the GOV Technology Code of Practice.
. Familiarity with HMG network security standards/patterns including the Network Security Fundamentals and the Secure by Design Principles.
. Experience of leading the design of network solutions within an IT Project/Programme.
