Lead Infrastructure Engineer

On behalf of HM Land Registry, we are looking for a Lead Infrastructure Engineer (Inside IR35) for a 12 month contract based Hybrid in Plymouth 3 days per week onsite.

HM Land Registry is hiring a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to provide technical leadership across its IT Operations Practice. You'll lead large-scale device provisioning using Autopilot and Intune MDM, while guiding infrastructure strategy and mentoring technical teams. Working within the Transformation & Technology directorate, you'll collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver resilient infrastructure solutions that support the organisation's digital transformation.

As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer your main responsibilities will be to:
. Lead technical delivery across BAU and change portfolios.
. Drive Autopilot device provisioning and desktop deployment.
. Manage mobile devices using Intune MDM.
. Drive strategic infrastructure improvements and consolidation.
. Resolve complex technical issues and ensure alignment with architectural standards.
. Collaborate with architects, delivery leads and suppliers to implement effective solutions.
. Provide guidance on Intune, SCCM, and Microsoft 365 technologies.
. Mentor and task-manage technical staff within the IT Operations practice.
. Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and ensure clear communication of deliverables.

Essential:
. Large-scale device provisioning using Autopilot and Intune MDM.
. Software packaging and SCCM administration.
. Windows 11 desktop and Office 365 management.
. Azure Hybrid AD, Exchange Hybrid, Entra ID (including App Registrations and App Proxy).
. Scripting (PowerShell, Terraform).
. Proven technical leadership in IT environments, with experience coaching teams, managing risk and delivering secure infrastructure solutions.
. Strategic infrastructure planning and delivery, including systems design, integration and clear technical documentation.
. Effective communication skills, including the ability to interact and build working relationships with stakeholders.

Desirable:
. Azure Virtual Desktop, Key Vaults, MS Defender, PowerBI.
. Knowledge of GDS Service Design Manual.
. ITIL Foundation (preferred).
