Domain Overview

The End User Computing team is a third line support team and look after many key services that underpin the Bank. They include the Citrix infrastructure, Horizon VDI's, InTune, Group policies for laptops and desktops, Printing to name a few! The End User Computing team is part of theDigital Workplace Domain in the Bank's Technology directorate, and is responsible for selecting, delivering, and continuously improving a portfolio of digital services that help colleagues across Bank to collaborate, communicate and be productive irrespective of role, device or location.

A day in the role

You will be involved in day-to-day support of the Citrix, Horizon VDI estate and Intune services, ensuring that an appropriate balance is achieved between maintaining live services through active management of the Incident, Request & Problem processes. Along side of these activities you will be heavily involved in project delivery, analytics and business engagement. You will be working on BAU incidents and work orders and balancing these requests with project deliverables. Being a senior technician you will be required to represent at stakeholder board meetings and be providing updates on progress against milestones to project managers, team leaders and other collaborators.

Your responsibilities will include;
  • Third line support of the Citrix estate, ensuring that an appropriate balance is achieved between maintaining live services through active management of the Incident, Request & Problem processes and other work including project delivery, analytics and business engagement.
  • Horizon VDI's, creating application stacks, policies, storage, active management of Incident, Request and Problem processes.
  • Support the InTune production environment
  • Microsoft Group Policies and general server support
  • Research and develop solutions that expand or enhance the service and technology portfolios, automate IT operations, reduce costs or increase levels of service
  • Ensure that colleagues across the organisation understand how to use and access our services and the value of doing so
  • Supporting wider initiatives led by the Digital Services and Digital Workplace leadership teams
  • Documenting procedures, configurations and training
  • Out of hours on-call support
  • Willingness to embrace our Service First culture, putting user experience at the fore front of solutions
  • Have the ability to craft concise, informative user documentation
Role Requirements

We are interested in hearing from candidates who can hit the ground running. While we've got a bunch of training resources and expert colleagues who can guide you, we're looking for someone with the following capabilities:

Minimum Criteria
  • Demonstrable experience supporting Citrix Infrastructure e.g. XenApp, NetScaler's, PVS, WEM, Storefront, App Layering, Control-Up, Appventix
  • Demonstrable experience supporting Horizon VDI e.g.Application layering, OS builds, gold image, Group policies, App volumes
  • Demonstrable experience supporting an InTune MDM environment, supporting both iOS and Windows device management
  • Microsoft Server OS support and associated group policies
  • Owning and managing services at a third line level, including building roadmaps, improvement plans, and developing services beyond just fixing issues
Additional Desirable Criteria
  • Software deployments using MECM and Microsoft Application virtualisation technologies
  • PowerShellscripting skills
  • Experience and knowledge of Azure and Cloud technologies
  • Experience of Firewalls and Networkingrequirements
  • Experience in supporting Printing Infrastructure
  • ITIL framework (understanding of Incident, Problem, Change)
  • Security clearance
  • Experience of change processes

Salary and Benefits Information

We encourage flexible working, part time working and job share arrangements. Part time salary and benefits will be on a pro-rated basis as appropriate.

We offer a salary as follows:

Leeds circa £47,920- £53,910

In addition, we also offer a comprehensive benefits package as detailed below:
  • A non-contributory, career average pension giving you a guaranteed retirement benefit of 1/95th of your annual salary for every year worked. There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/50th) or decrease (to 1/120th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year.
  • A discretionary performance award based on a current award pool.
  • A 8% benefits allowance with the option to take as salary or purchase a wide range of flexible benefits.
  • 26 days' annual leave with option to buy up to 12 additional days through flexible benefits.

National Security Vetting Process
