AWS (AIS) AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. The Worldwide Sustainability (WWS) organization capitalizes on Amazon's scale, speed, ability to build, invent, and simplify a resilient and sustainable company. The team consists of Electrical Engineers with Design Engineering backgrounds, many ex-electricians with practical knowledge of the systems they are designing.

Key responsibilities
  • Producing Design Specifications, marking up and checking design drawings, supporting on-site activities (Technical submittal reviews, answering RFIs, etc.), site inspections, equipment qualifications, presenting designs to stakeholders (page turns).
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering with experience in power systems and mission critical electrical design.
  • Excellent understanding of the European Electrical Codes with detailed knowledge of critical LV, MV and HV electrical equipment.
  • Understanding of relays, protection schemes, high-voltage circuit breakers, power and distribution transformers, electrical switchgear, grounding and earthing; ability to research new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities.
  • Ability to carry new design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment/construction; ability to perform complex business case analysis to justify technical decisions and present justification to management in a high-level review.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Chartered Engineer with a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and experience directly related to data center or mission critical facility design.
  • Previous consultant negotiation and management skills related to design, construction and project management of fast-track design/build projects, and/or multiple significant upgrade projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of building codes and regulations; ability to think creatively to reduce costs without impacting quality, reliability, or maintainability.
  • Leadership and problem-solving skills; motivated, dependable individual.
