Lead Consultant Psychiatrist

If you are a Lead Consultant Psychiatrist with experience working with inpatients who may be treated under the Mental Health Act and are interested in providing care for women and men who may have suffered trauma and are affected by mental disorders, then join the new team at Dunnock View.

You will be responsible for the overall clinical leadership of the medical team, including developing clinical pathways, clinical governance, and providing high-quality clinical supervision.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a caseload in accordance with NICE guidelines
• Leading multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic patient care and supporting colleagues
• Leading the Care Programme Approach process, providing medical reports, and endorsing CPA meeting minutes
• Liaising with external care coordinators and commissioners
• Collaborating with GPs and practice nurses to ensure high-quality physical health and wellbeing care
• Undertaking administrative duties related to patient care
• Supporting the Hospital Director with in-service and business planning activities for the locality and the entire service
• Participating in annual appraisals for Consultants
• Attending and contributing to Elysium's academic programme, including lectures and seminars as part of the CPD
• Jointly leading managers and professional colleagues to ensure efficient service operation

You will also be required to participate in the On Call Consultant rota.

To be successful, you'll need to:

• Be medically qualified, with MRC Psych or equivalent
• Have Section 12(2) approval to work in England and Approved clinician status
• Hold full GMC registration with a license to practice
• Be innovative, with the ability to initiate corporate decisions
• Have a good understanding of current developments in psychiatry and mental health
• Possess substantial knowledge of change management, relevant legislation, and contemporary mental health issues, including experience with purchaser/provider contracts
• Have previous Consultant experience in a management role
