How you'll make an impact
  • Lead the design, development, and optimisation of Angular-based frontend applications.
  • Provide technical direction and mentoring to frontend developers, promoting knowledge-sharing and consistent standards.
  • Establish and maintain reusable UI components, shared modules, and frontend libraries in support of a productised development model.
  • Promote efficient and secure programming practices, with a focus on reducing duplication and improving maintainability across codebases.
  • Review and approve code to ensure alignment with architectural principles, performance benchmarks, and maintainability goals.
  • Work closely with design and backend teams to ensure seamless integration of UI with APIs and backend services.
  • Establish and enforce development best practices, including testing, accessibility, and security standards.
  • Proactively identify and resolve technical risks and issues that may impact delivery.
  • Contribute to solution architecture, particularly in frontend-related domains (component structure, state management, performance tuning).
  • Promote the adoption of modern frontend tooling and development workflows (CI/CD, automated testing, static analysis).
  • Lead or contribute to sprint planning, backlog grooming, and delivery estimation processes.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and professional development of frontend developers.
  • Actively stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to Angular and frontend development.
About you
  • Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript, HTML, and CSS (including SCSS).
  • Extensive experience with Angular (preferably the second-latest major release or later) and associated tooling.
  • Strong grasp of component-based architecture, RxJS, and state management using libraries such as NgRx.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring frontend teams within Agile or Scrum environments.
  • Proven ability to design and implement scalable, maintainable, and high-performing frontend solutions.
  • Deep understanding of accessibility (WCAG), responsive design principles, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Experience integrating frontend applications with RESTful APIs and handling complex asynchronous interactions.
  • Familiarity with frontend testing practices using tools such as Jest, Cypress, or Selenium.
  • Strong working knowledge of Git and modern development workflows, including CI/CD practices.
  • Ability to translate UX/UI designs (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD) into functional and pixel-perfect interfaces.
  • Solid experience with frontend performance optimisation techniques.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working with cloud-hosted applications and understanding of frontend security concerns.

Additional attributes

  • Experience with monorepo architectures or micro frontends.
  • Exposure to server-side rendering or static site generation with Angular Universal.
  • Passion for coaching, mentoring, and cultivating a high-performing team environment.
  • Ability to balance delivery priorities with technical debt management.
  • Experience contributing to or establishing frontend governance (coding standards, documentation, design systems).
