The RoleOperating as a highly experienced analyst, you will be a key resource in a team of analysts responsible for owning, generating and delivering relevant, accurate and valuable business insights to internal and external customers.
With the ability to demonstrate simple to complex analytical techniques using industry standard tools, your role will be to help the business make timely and better-informed decisions. You will develop & coach the data analysts in technical capabilities, in partnership with the team manager, ensuring that the team develops in line with business change and technology developments.
The Analytics & Insights team support evidence-based decision making across PRS for Music, as well as helping our members understand trends and factors that influence the use of their works. We develop key reporting, working to utilise the latest technology to enhance our analytical capabilities.
In the role, you'll be able to draw on a knowledgeable team, working with your colleagues to solve problems in an environment where it's ok to experiment and bring new ideas to the table in the interest of finding new and raising the standard across the team.
ResponsibilitiesAs our Lead Analyst, some of your day to day duties will include
- Translating complex data into clear narratives and recommendations for relevant business areas & senior management as appropriate.
- Contributing to the creation of an enterprise-wide approach to delivering self-serve analytics in the PRS organisation through best practice.
- Coaching and mentoring team members on advanced analytics techniques, such as supervised machine learning models, predictive models, segmentation strategies and scenario simulations to support strategic decision-making.
- Actively collaborating with the wider Data Services team and business stakeholders to explore new business opportunities where advanced analytics methodologies can be implemented.
- Stay up to date with emerging trends in AI, machine learning and data science, and contribute to the application of these to the PRS business model.

Required Skills/Experience- Proven experience and track record of Senior/ Lead Data Analysis with responsibility for technical delivery.
- Ability to coach and mentor data analysts in technical and non-technical skills.
- Proficient in using SQL to query, extract, and analyse large and complex datasets from relational databases.
- Competency in using coding languages such as Python and experience in advanced analytical techniques such as classification, regression and clustering.
- High proficiency in data visualisation using Microsoft Power BI and DAX (or similar BI tool).
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate data visually, communicating results in a clear and understandable manner to non-technical disciplines.
- Strategic thinker, with the ability to recognise the relationship between your own work and the objectives of the team and wider business.
- Self-motivated, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience of Generative AI in analytics/coding
- Experience of working in Agile/Product based delivery models
- Experience in Jira/Confluence
- Having knowledge of PRS, Performance Rights Organisations, and/or the music industry would enhance a candidate's application.
