Lead AI Programmer

Based at our well-established studio in Horsham, in the heart of West Sussex, you will be working as a key member of the team on our upcoming Survival title, the sequel to Alien: Isolation. In this role, you will be able to make a real impact on our games, bringing your knowledge and experience to help push the boundaries of the genre by collaborating with the wider development team to make our titles better than ever before. This role is Hybrid, requiring a minimum of 2 days per week in our Horsham studio.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will lead a small team of AI engineers in developing top-quality AI capabilities for our project. On a day-to-day basis, you will:
- Act as the technical owner and primary contact for the project's AI engineering.
- Work closely with design, production, and technical directors to identify, define, plan, and scope all project AI engineering work.
- Collaborate with your team to plan, estimate, and develop high-quality, performant AI code.
- Ensure features are delivered on time and meet quality expectations.
- Document AI systems and implement appropriate auto-tests.
- Debug, diagnose, and resolve issues as they arise.
- Mentor team members in their technical and professional development.
Essential:
- Extensive professional C++ programming experience in AI.
- Experience using Unreal Engine 4 or 5 on a AAA title.
- Experience building sophisticated AI systems.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration.
- Previous leadership experience.
- Development experience on consoles.
- A passion for games and solving technical problems.
