About the Organisation
We are building a new generation of technology that helps manufacturers and industrial businesses turn raw maintenance, inventory, and purchasing data into intelligent insights and automated decisions. Our platform connects seamlessly with existing systems and transforms traditional operations into a fully data driven environment focused on efficiency, accuracy, and automation.
This is a business with a clear purpose, strong backing, and a vision to help global industry move beyond static data and towards intelligent execution.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a talented and ambitious Lead AI Engineer to take full technical ownership of all AI and machine learning initiatives. This is a genuine greenfield opportunity where you will set the direction, define the architecture, and build AI systems that will power a live SaaS platform already being used by enterprise clients.
You will report directly to the leadership team and work closely with software engineers to design, deploy, and scale cutting edge AI features that solve real world problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of AI powered features such as intelligent parts search, digital twins, procurement agents, and predictive maintenance insights.
- Build and productionise LLM driven agents and workflows using frameworks such as LangChain or Semantic Kernel.
- Integrate AI functionality with existing systems that include .NET, React, and Azure.
- Develop and manage data pipelines and model training processes for classification, optimisation, and knowledge graph applications.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure AI systems are secure, scalable, and reliable in production.
- Research, evaluate, and adopt emerging AI tools and frameworks to maintain a leading technical edge.
- Mentor engineers and support the recruitment and development of a small AI and ML team as the organisation grows.
You are an experienced AI Engineer who enjoys balancing innovation with practical delivery. You take a hands-on approach to building systems that perform in the real world and thrive in a dynamic, fast moving environment.
Essential Experience:
- At least five years of experience in AI or ML engineering within a SaaS or industrial technology environment.
- Strong Python development skills with experience using PyTorch, TensorFlow, and LangChain.
- Proven experience deploying production AI systems on Azure, including pipelines, CI/CD, and model management.
- Familiarity with LLM orchestration, vector databases, and OCR.
- Understanding of MLOps principles and data engineering practices.
- Confident collaborating across .NET and React environments to deliver production ready features.
- A problem solver with curiosity, creativity, and a commercial mindset.
- Advantageous experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or asset management systems.
- The chance to lead AI development from the ground up on a genuine greenfield platform.
- Freedom to shape technical direction and innovation strategy.
- A close-knit and collaborative team with strong support for experimentation.
- Competitive salary, company pension, hybrid flexibility, and on-site parking.
