About the Job

Service Care Solutions are recruiting for an exciting opportunity which has arisen for an experienced Landscape Construction Works Officer to join a busy Parks and Green Spaces team supporting the delivery of public realm, landscape and play area improvement projects across Bristol. Working within a capital delivery project team, you will play a key role in overseeing the construction, refurbishment and repair of parks infrastructure, hard and soft landscaping works, and children's play facilities throughout the city.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out on site inspections of landscape construction and infrastructure works
  • Monitor construction progress, quality, safety compliance and completion standards
  • Inspect below ground works and ensure compliance with specifications and drawings
  • Attend pre start, progress and handover meetings with contractors and project teams
  • Record snagging issues, defects, non conformities and additional works requirements
  • Liaise with contractors, in house teams and project leads throughout project delivery
  • Support the delivery of parks infrastructure and play facility projects
  • Assist with post installation inspections and compliance relating to children's play facilities and BS EN standards
  • Ensure works comply with Construction Design Management (CDM) regulations
Essential Requirements
  • HNC Level 4 in Construction Management or equivalent professional experience
  • Extensive experience in external construction, maintenance and infrastructure works
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and public realm works
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings, specifications and Bills of Quantities
  • Proven experience carrying out site inspections and monitoring quality and safety compliance
  • Good working knowledge of CDM regulations and health & safety practices
  • Ability to communicate effectively with contractors, colleagues and members of the public
  • Confident using Microsoft 365 and mobile technology for reporting and inspections
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Experience working with children's play equipment and safer surfacing
  • RPII Outdoor Operational Inspector qualification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience working in parks, green spaces or public realm environments

The successful candidate will be comfortable working across multiple sites, travelling throughout Bristol and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely and to a high standard.
