About the role

Ready to join the best team in the industry and make a real impact? We're looking for a proactive and hardworking Labourer to join our high-performing Plant & Tool Division. If you're someone who takes pride in keeping things organised, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and wants to be part of a growing business-this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

As a Labourer, you'll play a key role in ensuring our depot runs smoothly and safely. You'll maintain a clean and hazard free workshop and yard, prepare plant equipment for hire, and support the wider team to deliver exceptional service to our customers across construction, utilities, and infrastructure sectors.

This is a hands on role offering real career progression in a company that invests in its people.

Responsibilities
  • Keep the workshop and yard clean, tidy, and hazard free.
  • Clean plant equipment and store it in an orderly fashion.
  • Refuel plant and machinery, accurately updating fuel logs.
  • Quality check equipment before it leaves the depot to ensure it is hire ready.
  • Assist with general workshop duties as required.
  • Carry out driving duties (subject to licence) and assist Drivers and customers with loading and unloading vehicles.
  • Operate forklift when necessary.
About You

What you'll bring:

  • Previous experience in a labourer role, ideally within a hire depot or yard environment.
  • Strong team player with a willingness to support colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative in a busy environment.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
  • CSCS card, forklift licence, and driving licence are advantageous.
About Us

You'll be joining an industry leader that is growing and committed to your success. At GAP, we are proud to be the UK's leading equipment hire provider, supporting projects big and small across construction, infrastructure, events, and more. With nearly 200 locations nationwide and a range of specialist divisions, we offer exciting opportunities in everything from Plant and Tools to Lifting, Survey, Pumps, Power and Environmental, and Event Services.

As a family run business with over 50 years of experience, we believe in doing things the right way. That means:

  • More investment in our equipment than anyone else in the industry, so you work with the best tools.
  • Remaining fully independent, which lets us make agile, long term decisions that support your success.
  • Offering real career growth, training, and development from day one.
  • Support that values you - from generous holidays to Life Assurance and Health & Wellness Support.
