Job Title: Laboratory SupervisorDepartment: CT LaboratoryLocation: Onsite; York, UKHours Per Week: 37.5Schedule: Tuesday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Potential for Monday - Friday)SUMMARYThe Laboratory Supervisor has responsibility for day-to-day operations within the laboratory in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) regulations.RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for the day to day management of laboratory personnel including definition of role and responsibilities, training, development and performance management.Support the effective performance of the team and individuals to ensure scheduled operational activities are completed on each given day.Manage the laboratory phase of validation activities (equipment and assay) alongside Research and Development ensuring deliverables meet required timeframes and requirements.Performing sample analysis where required. Designated as a subject matter expert for assays / platforms within the laboratory.Working closely with scientific subject matter experts and the Research and Development function to coordinate and manage new equipment and analytical procedures.Ability to troubleshoot assays and analytical systems within the laboratory.Setup and maintenance of laboratory equipment in line with standard operating procedure (SOPs)Any other duties as defined and requested by OperationalManagement.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBSc (or equivalent) or higher in a relevant scientific subject.A minimum of 6 years' experience within a laboratory environment.A minimum of 2 years' experience supervising a team (external) or 2 years' experience coaching /mentoring a team (internal).PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.Rochester Regional Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
