Laboratory Automation Specialist

NES Fircroft is recruiting a Laboratory Automation Specialist to join a leading agricultural company dedicated to enhancing global food security. This role is based at our client's site in Bracknell on a 24-month contract.

The Role:

As a Laboratory Automation Specialist, you will collaborate with scientists to leverage cutting-edge automation platforms. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Setting up automated workflows.
2. Troubleshooting issues on the Tecan Evo liquid handler.
3. Contributing to the selection of new automation equipment.

Required Skills:

• Proven experience in an automation role, preferably within a laboratory environment.
• Proficiency in developing, testing, and troubleshooting workflows on a liquid handler, specifically the Tecan Evo.
• Ability to work closely with scientists to translate manual processes into automated workflows.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Your Background:

• MSc or equivalent experience in a science or engineering discipline.
• Experience with integrating and automating laboratory equipment.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, C++, C#, R, SQL.
• Knowledge of IoT devices, microcontrollers, SBCs, or device integration.
• Experience with Design of Experiments (DoE) and image analysis.
