Job Description

*Lab Engineer - 6 months B2B Contract - Madrid - On-Site*

RED has a new contract opportunity for a Lab Engineer to join one of our key partners for a large-scale laboratory technology and infrastructure support programme.

The initial contract will be for 6 months with potential for extension based on project demand.

This contract is to start ASAP and will be fully on-site in Madrid, Spain.

We are specifically looking for candidates who combine strong End User Computing/Desktop Support expertise with experience supporting laboratory environments, scientific users, and regulated systems. This is not a standard desktop support role and candidates must be able to demonstrate exposure to laboratory technologies, scientific equipment, or pharmaceutical/biotech research environments.

Specific skills/experience required:

* 8 years of End User Computing, Desktop Support, or Lab IT support experience.

* Strong troubleshooting skills covering hardware, software, networking, device connectivity, and laboratory applications.

* Experience supporting laboratory, scientific, pharmaceutical, biotech, R&D, healthcare, or regulated environments.

* Knowledge of scientific instruments, laboratory systems, instrument connectivity, and data flows.

* Experience working with scientists, researchers, laboratory technicians, or analytical teams.

* Understanding of GxP, validated systems, software testing/validation, or regulated IT environments is highly desirable.

* Strong networking knowledge including VLANs, TCP/IP, Subnetting, IT/OT environments, Firewalls, and OSI model troubleshooting.

* Active Directory administration and support experience.

* Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM/ticketing platforms.

* Experience with Windows environments; Linux and macOS/iOS experience advantageous.

* Knowledge of endpoint security and infrastructure support.

* Strong communication skills and ability to engage with both technical teams and scientific stakeholders.

* Available to start within 2-3 weeks from offer

Candidates must be located in Spain and able to work on-site in Madrid five days per week.
