Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire
Salary: London Fringe MPS-UPS (£34,397 - £62,500 per annum)
Contract: Full Time, Temporary with the opportunity to become permanent
Start Date: September2026 (or earlier by agreement)

An ambitious and inclusive primary school in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a dedicated Phase Leader / Year4 Teacher to join their Key Stage2 team. The Role

As Phase Leader and Year4 Class Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high quality teaching within your own classroom while supporting the development and consistency of practice across the phase. Working closely with the leadership team, you will contribute to school improvement priorities and help drive positive outcomes for pupils.

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Teaching
    • Deliver engaging and purposeful lessons for a Year4 class.
    • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where pupils are motivated to succeed.
    • Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and inform future teaching.
    • Provide appropriate support and challenge to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Phase Leadership
    • Support the continued development of teaching and learning across Key Stage2.
    • Help maintain consistency in curriculum planning, expectations, and standards.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to share effective practice and improve outcomes.
    • Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and curriculum development activities.
  • Wider School Contribution
    • Develop strong relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
    • Support whole school initiatives and improvement plans.
    • Promote safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing throughout the school.
Ideal Candidate
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Strong experience teaching within Key Stage2, ideally Year4.
  • A proven ability to deliver consistently high quality lessons.
  • Experience of leadership responsibilities or a clear ambition to progress.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and improving pupil outcomes.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
