KS2 1:1 Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant (SEN Preferred) Potters Bar, Hertfordshire September 2026 Start £95-£115 per day Part-Time (half days) or Full-Time 2-Term Temporary Contract with Potential Permanent Opportunity

Tradewind Recruitment are delighted to be working with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Potters Bar, who are seeking a dedicated KS2 1:1 Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September 2026.

The Role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting a Key Stage 2 pupil, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised support throughout the school day.

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil
  • Supporting learning both in and out of the classroom
  • Implementing strategies and interventions recommended by the SEN team
  • Encouraging independence, engagement, and positive behaviour
  • Building a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil and their family
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff to ensure the best outcomes
Pay & Working Pattern
  • £95-£115 per day, depending on experience
  • Part-time or full-time opportunities available
  • Term-time only
  • September 2026 start
  • Two-term temporary contract with potential for a permanent role
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant
  • Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ideally within a primary school setting
  • A calm, patient and nurturing approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A proactive attitude and genuine passion for supporting children's learning and wellbeing
  • Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check
