About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. This role is vital in supporting the kitchen team by maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient working environment. The Kitchen Porter will work closely with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly, particularly during busy service periods. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in the hospitality industry and develop skills within a professional kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to maintain high hygiene standards.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients when required.
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods by ensuring work areas remain clean, organised, and well stocked.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, storage areas, and equipment throughout service.
• Dispose of waste appropriately and follow recycling procedures in line with company standards.
• Assist with receiving deliveries and storing food and kitchen supplies correctly.
• Follow health, safety and food hygiene regulations at all times to maintain a safe working environment.

Person Specification

• Previous experience in a restaurant, café, hotel, or catering environment is beneficial but not essential.
• A strong work ethic and willingness to support the kitchen team in a fast paced environment.
• Interest in hospitality or culinary work is desirable.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills.
• Flexible working hours are essential, including weekends and busy event periods.

This role involves long periods on your feet and working in a dynamic kitchen environment with varying demands throughout the week, including peak trading periods and large scale events.
