Position

We are recruiting for a part time Kitchen Assistant to assist with the preparation and delivery of meals as defined by the chef manager. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a catering/kitchen/hospitality environment and will assist the Chef in all aspects of the catering operation as required, ensuring all catering areas are maintained in a hygienic, clean, and safe manner. You'll be working 15 hours per week and need to be flexible to work on a rota as it's not set days but this can be discussed at interview.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of balanced, appetising meals
  • Perform cooking tasks and other kitchen duties
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas & dining room
  • Wash utensils, dishes & make sure they are stored appropriately
  • Rotate stock & put away all deliveries
  • Maintain personal hygiene to comply with Cygnet standards and food hygiene regulations
  • Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
  • Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations
Qualifications
  • Passionate about catering, preferably with experience within a care setting
  • Enthusiastic, keen to learn and an active team member
  • Polite & professional, with a positive attitude at all times
  • Excellent communicator who can liaise with people at all levels
  • Can work on your own initiative & under supervision
  • Diligent & take pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness
