Role Description
As a Junior Security Engineer, you will support the secure operation of Google Cloud Platform environments and digital services. you will assist in implementing security controls, monitoring vulnerabilities and supporting compliance activities aligned to public sector standards and GDPR requirements. You will work closely with DevOps and engineering teams to embed secure software development life cycle practices and support integration with security monitoring capabilities. This role contributes to maintaining operational resilience across data platforms, APIs and Pega-based applications.

Preferred Tech Stack Expertise
Google Cloud Platform security services, Security Command Center, Cloud Logging and Monitoring, IAM and access control models, vulnerability scanning tools, GitHub, basic knowledge of Terraform and CI/CD pipelines

Responsibilities

• Support implementation of security controls across cloud infrastructure and applications

• Assist in vulnerability scanning, remediation tracking and compliance reporting

• Monitor security alerts and escalate incidents in line with agreed procedures

• Contribute to secure coding and DevSecOps practices within agile teams

• Maintain documentation to support audits and governance requirements

• Support integration with logging, monitoring and alerting solutions

• Participate in knowledge transfer activities to strengthen in-house security capability
