Salary/Rate: €40,000 - €45,000

We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading consultancy clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Junior Oracle Database Administrator to join their team in Luxembourg on a hybrid basis.
Job Responsibilities/Objectives
You will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimising Oracle databases, assisting with installations and upgrades, resolving performance issues, and collaborating with internal teams and clients to ensure reliable database operations.
- Support both internal teams and external clients.
- Manage incidents and problems related to production systems.
- Work within a complex financial software environment.
- Assist with first-time installations or upgrades of database systems.
- Analyse and resolve database performance issues.
- Maintain internal database infrastructure.
- Contribute to research and development related to database technologies.
- Participate in a shared rota for daily production support responsibilities.
- Collaborate closely with software development, consulting teams, and third-party support providers.
- Produce technical documentation and procedures.
- Share your expertise and support knowledge-sharing within the team.
Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Experience in a DBA role.
- Proficient in English (C1 or higher); knowledge of French (B1 or above) is an advantage.
- Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field.
- Prior experience with Oracle databases is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Cloud platforms (eg, OCI, AWS) is a plus.
- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix environments and Scripting.
- Knowledge of server-grade hardware is advantageous.
- ITIL knowledge considered beneficial.
- Strong teamwork, problem-solving abilities, and resilience under pressure.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Well-organised, autonomous, and detail-oriented.
- Motivated to learn beyond the core DBA remit.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for business.
- Availability to provide weekend on-call support as required.
- Able to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Committed to improving quality and efficiency.
- Experience working within a support-focused organisation is a plus.
