A main contractor in Corby is looking for a Junior Document Controller to support its project and design teams across a range of live construction projects.
The company works across the later living, multi-room residential and life sciences sectors, delivering projects typically valued between £10m and £30m. They are looking for somebody who can support the flow of project information and help keep documentation organised across multiple live projects.
This role suits someone currently working as a Construction Administrator, Project Administrator, or Site Administrator who wants to move into a dedicated document control position. If you're handling a broad range of administrative duties and would like a more structured role with a clear route for progression, this could be an ideal next step.
The Role
You'll work closely with Design Managers, Project Managers and site teams, helping to make sure project information is issued, tracked and stored correctly.
Day to day, you'll support the management of drawings, technical information, RFIs, meeting minutes and project records. You'll help keep project information organised and ensure teams are working from the latest approved documents.
This role is well suited to someone who enjoys working in an organised way, takes pride in getting the details right and is keen to learn more about how construction projects are delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update project documentation, drawing registers and document control systems.
- Manage the distribution, tracking and filing of drawings, specifications and technical documents.
- Support project and design teams with document control processes and information management.
- Assist with RFIs, technical queries, design information and change control documentation.
- Prepare meeting minutes, reports, schedules and project updates.
- Liaise with consultants, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure information is issued accurately and on time.
- Help set up project folders, templates, workflows and document control procedures.
- Assist with compliance documentation, statutory approvals and project records.
- Provide administrative support to project and office teams when required.
- Maintain organised digital and hard-copy filing systems.
- Build knowledge of document control procedures and construction project delivery as your experience develops.
About You
- Experience in construction administration, project administration, site administration or a similar support role.
- Strong organisational skills and good attention to detail.
- Able to manage several tasks and deadlines at the same time.
- Good communication skills and confidence working with a range of people across projects.
- Competent using Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with document management systems would be useful but isn't essential.
- Able to work independently while contributing as part of a team.
- Interested in moving into document control and learning the systems and processes that support construction projects.
Salary & Benefits
- £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience
