One post is a maternity cover for one year, starting May 2025. The second post is for 6 months, starting September 2025. We have a strong track record of supporting trainees through various posts and successful entry into national training programmes.
Main duties of the jobApplications are invited for a Junior Clinical Fellow post in Paediatric Cardiology at Evelina London Children's Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to gain paediatric experience at a world-class paediatric hospital with numerous training and educational opportunities. Although these are not accredited training posts, they offer similar benefits, including study leave, a named educational supervisor, and a comprehensive educational program.

Located in a state-of-the-art building at St Thomas', our hospital includes:
- 5 operating theatres, plus 1 cardiac theatre in East Wing, St Thomas'
- A full children's imaging service with MRI scanner, X-ray, and ultrasound
- A kidney dialysis unit
- An outpatient department and a medical day care unit
- Paediatric emergency department
All duties are performed on a full shift system and comply with the Junior doctor contract.
The paediatric post is based in Evelina London Children's Hospital at St Thomas' Hospital in paediatric cardiology.
Person Specification Qualifications/Education- Medical degree - MBBS or equivalent
- Completed Foundation competencies or equivalent
- GMC Registration
- MRCPCH Part 1, Level 3 Child Protection Training
- Newborn Life Support training
- APLS or equivalent resuscitation certification
- Understanding of principles and applications of clinical research
- Experience in clinical procedures relevant to the post
- Experience in quality improvement work or service development
- Contribution to clinical audit and risk management
- Interest and experience in teaching
- Understanding of working with children and their parents
- Reflective practice and commitment to personal development
- At least one year of paediatric or neonatal experience
- Paediatric cardiology experience
- Effective teamworking skills within a multidisciplinary team
- Satisfactory medical occupational health clearance and evidence of immunity to Hepatitis B for invasive procedures
- Understanding of and adherence to GMC Good Medical Practice principles
- Relevant extracurricular activities or achievements in paediatrics
