This is acritical role in supporting the procurement function by assisting in sourcing initiatives, managing supplier relationships, and optimising purchasing processes to deliver value to the business.
As theJunior Category Buyer you willcollaborate with the senior buyer and procurement team,to identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiate favourable terms with suppliers, and ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career in buying and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced business

What can you bring to Banham?
With your previous experience within a similar role you will be able to evidence:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to analyse market trends, supplier performance, and procurement data to identify opportunities for cost savings and value creation.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of procurement best practices, sourcing strategies, and contract management principles (Preferred not essential).
- Familiarity with procurement software or ERP systems is a plus
- Capable of negotiating with suppliers to achieve favourable terms, pricing, and service levels while maintaining positive relationships.
- Meticulous in processing purchase orders, reviewing contracts, and managing supplier information with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Able to work in a dynamic environment, prioritise tasks effectively, and adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
- Work well in a team environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams, buyers, and suppliers to achieve procurement goals.
- Proficiency with usingExcel
Professional Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management preferred.
- Knowledge of Sage X3
