Hours of Work- Full Time
- Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:00
- Unscheduled call ins may be required due to emergencies
- Health and safety equipment as needed
- Driving company vehicles
Must be willing to travel to various district sites in the Kingston District.

Job SummaryThe District Manager interacts with clients, site supervisors and Commissionaires to direct all district level operations. The manager is the primary authority for administering every district site/contract and all district personnel within the Kingston area. Responsibilities include ensuring employee compliance with ESA standards, providing policy interpretation, direction, assistance and support for scheduling, personnel administration, assessment, progressive discipline, WSCFs, WSIB reporting and leave processing. On site presence is required; remote work is not permitted.
Experience- Previous supervisory experience
- Knowledge of ISO requirements
- Office and computer experience
- Experience working with unions, including handling grievances and interpreting collective agreements
- G license
- Valid Ontario security license or ability to obtain one
- Ability to obtain and maintain a reliability clearance
- Post secondary diploma/degree in business administration or equivalent experience (asset)
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Excellent leadership, management and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem solving and organizational skills
- Excellent team building skills
- Strong computer skills/experience (Office, Word, Outlook, apps)
- Knowledge of scheduling software
- Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance
Level II - Secret (requires 10 years minimum Canadian residency)
Responsibilities- Organize and participate in career events with Human Resources and/or Enrollments personnel.
- Coordinate operational requirements for existing/established contracted security sites in the Kingston District.
- Direct, communicate and interact with Regional Office and site staff professionally.
- Manage hiring and development of Commissionaires; initiate progressive discipline as required.
- Maintain the Spares list; ensure a roster of trained Commissionaires for new contracts and surge needs.
- Implement new contracts, including staffing and on site operating procedures.
- Regularly contact clients to ensure satisfaction, update on services, and address concerns.
- Initiate new business opportunities by following up on referrals and tenders.
- Create and submit quotes for temporary contracts; provide input on proposals regarding Commissionaire availability and salary.
- Conduct Site Supervisor meetings in the District Office, updating supervisors on legislative, operational, financial and HR changes.
- Ensure Commissionaires hold valid Provincial Security Guard licenses and current "First Aid" qualifications.
- Assist Regional Office with union matters, assess and respond to grievances.
- Resolve staffing or contract issues with Regional Office.
- Schedule, train, manage and assess District Office staff; complete scheduling in absence of Scheduler/District Supervisor.
- Conduct performance evaluations of Site Supervisors; present awards to Guards and Supervisors.
- Report ISO non compliance issues to Regional Office; submit weekly Operations Report to Director of Operations.
- Maintain credit card records/receipts; submit to Finance upon purchase.
- Coordinate with KDS to ensure WSCFs and WSIB forms are completed and sent to Human Resources.
- Assist guards with online license renewals; manage receipts for reimbursements.
- Provide accurate weekly reports to Director of Operations.
- Share on call duties with Kingston District Supervisor; communicate call in status to site supervisors.
- Participate in internal training and continuing education as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Operations or delegate.
- Assume Scheduler/District Administrative Supervisor responsibilities when absent.
