Java Developer (Low Latency)

Low-Latency Engineer (Java) | London, 3 days onsite | Up to £600/day Inside IR35 | 12-month contract

I'm working with a global technology consultancy delivering into a tier-1 investment bank's ultra-low-latency trading platform. They need three engineers to help build the Real Time market data backbone that feeds their trading desks, where microseconds really do count.

What you'll be doing:

• Building and tuning ultra-low-latency Java for tick and pricing infrastructure
• Getting close to the metal with JNI and Unsafe
• Tuning GC, CPU and memory so the platform never misses a tick
• Working closely with quant, trading and engineering teams

What they're looking for:

• Strong Core Java in HFT or ultra-low-latency trading environments
• Hands-on JNI and/or Unsafe experience
• CPU and garbage collection tuning, plus low-memory, allocation-free coding
• Experience with ticks or pricing infrastructure (C++ a bonus, not essential)
