Java Developer

We re helping our retail banking client with their search for a Java engineer, who will has an excellent handle on microservices architecture.

Here are the essential skills the client needs:-

• 4+ years of software development experience in Java, and expected to be hands-on to software development tasks
• Solid Experience with microservices engineering
• Experience with Kafka for messaging an important aspect of the role
• Comfortable working with NoSQL databases (MongoDB)
• Familiar with SDLC process
• A TDD approach to work and test automation (Junit, Mocking, Gherkin)
• Previous experience working in a retail banking environment a plus but not essential
• Excellent communication and follow-through, analytical, self-motivated, attention to detail a must

Please note this role requires 5 days a week office attendance in our clients beautiful offices, located in Central Birmingham. There is ZERO accommodation for home working in this role, so if this is important for you please do NOT apply.

The contract runs 6 months initially with extensions considered well into 2026 for the contractor based on good delivery.
