Java Developer - Low Latency Systems (FinTech)

Location: London (Hybrid)

Are you an experienced Java Developer with a passion for working on cutting-edge, low-latency systems? Join a dynamic and innovative fintech, delivering high-performance solutions in the world of financial markets. We're looking for a talented Mid/Senior Java Developer to contribute to our mission of building the fastest, most reliable systems in the industry.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, low-latency Java applications for mission-critical trading systems.
• Work on optimising throughput and minimizing latency to meet the demands of real-time financial markets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions that handle large volumes of data with minimal delay.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks and implement solutions that enhance system reliability.
• Participate in full SDLC, from technical design through to testing, deployment, and monitoring.

What You'll Bring:

• 5+ years of professional Java development experience, with a focus on performance and low-latency applications.
• Strong knowledge of multithreading, concurrency, and memory management in Java.
• Experience with low-level performance tuning and optimization in highly transactional systems.
• Familiarity with network programming (TCP/IP, UDP) and high-throughput messaging systems.
• Experience working in a high-performance environment, preferably within fintech, trading, or real-time systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, and an ability to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Bonus Skills:

• Exposure to financial markets or trading platforms.
• Experience with Linux, distributed systems, and high-frequency trading environments.
• Knowledge of JVM internals and garbage collection tuning.
