Join Our Team as a Clinical Duty Shift Manager

We're looking for an experienced and dedicated Clinical Duty Shift Manager (CDSM) to join our Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) Operational Delivery Team. This is a key role responsible for real-time clinical resource management, ensuring safe, effective and high-quality service delivery across our IUC/111 network.

What you'll be doing
  • Providing clinical advice and guidance to contact centre sites.
  • Working closely with the non-clinical Duty Shift Manager to maintain safe patient services.
  • Acting as a central point of contact for network operations during live service delivery.
  • Monitoring real-time performance KPI data and reacting to demand appropriately.
  • Completing management reports and clinical documentation throughout the shift.
  • Managing escalation processes and communicating service triggers (OPEL framework).
  • Overseeing staff adherence via workforce management tools.
  • Conducting risk assessment of CAS and 111 clinical call-back queues.
  • Managing clinician resources effectively, including patient consultations and safety functions.
  • Supporting sites with meetings, audits, and training as operationally feasible.
  • Leading Bronze-level responses during adverse incidents and supporting BCP/incident drills.

  • NHS Pathways Licensed Advisor
  • Current NMC or HCPC registration
Experience in:
  • Live operational resource management
  • Clinical management in IUC/111
  • Major incident & resilience planning
  • Real-time clinical service delivery
  • Auditing and risk management
