The Role

As an IT Asset Manager, you will operate as a senior consultant and trusted advisor within our ITAM practice. You'll lead engagements that help enterprise clients gain clarity and control over their software and hardware estates, guiding them through complex licensing, compliance, and optimisation challenges.

You'll bring deep expertise in Software Asset Management (SAM) and ITAM best practices, combining strategic insight with hands-on delivery. Whether leading maturity assessments, designing operational models, or solving data integrity issues, you'll be at the centre of helping clients turn their IT asset data into actionable, measurable outcomes.

Much of this work will be underpinned by Flexera FNMS-where your ability to manage, validate, and interpret inventory data will support a broader programme of ITAM excellence.

Consultant Capabilities

• Act as a trusted advisor to enterprise clients, helping them interpret, navigate, and optimise their ITAM data and tooling.
• Train, support, and develop client-side ITAM teams, building capability and ownership in asset management practices.
• Communicate technical insight clearly to non-technical audiences, building confidence and driving decisions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally across ITSX teams (Engagement Managers, Subject Matter Experts and Commercial Specialists) to deliver value-driven outcomes.
• Bring a value-focused mindset-ensuring recommendations and actions align with measurable business impact, not just technical tasks.

Technical Responsibilities

• Manage Flexera FNMS for assigned clients, with a focus on data completeness, accuracy, and system integrity.
• Validate and enrich discovery data to support audit, reconciliation, and optimisation efforts.
• Maintain data quality across key FNMS structures including devices, applications, purchases, licences, and contracts.
• Collaborate with senior consultants to support licence positions for Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, IBM, VMware, and others.
• Identify and remediate data gaps or anomalies affecting compliance and reporting.
• Assist with KPI dashboards and reporting deliverables aligned to client ITAM maturity goals.
• Stay current with Flexera platform updates and software publisher trends, applying these to improve asset data management.

About You

• 10+ years in IT Asset Management (ITAM) or Software Asset Management (SAM), with 5+ years deep experience in Flexera FNMS.
• Strong understanding of software discovery, beacon architecture, agent health, and data normalisation.
• Comfortable operating across Tier 1 vendors' licensing models and their impact on inventory.
• Analytical, process-focused, and confident troubleshooting inconsistencies in large datasets.
• Clear communicator, with the ability to train, document, and influence client stakeholders.
• Self-motivated and able to manage priorities across multiple client environments.
• Eligible to work in the UK (2 years 9 months+ leave to remain).
