Job Description
Role purpose
PIC is seeking an IT Transition Support Specialist to ensure that new or modified IT services are smoothly and efficiently moved from a non-production environment into production. You will have close interaction with the Strategic Transformation Office, Enterprise Architecture, and the Citizen Development community across the business.
Key responsibilities
- Service Transition: Ensure that new IT Services are smoothly transitioned into Production, with support processes and procedures and ownership understood and accepted.
- Change Enablement: Ensure that IT Changes are thoroughly assessed, especially with a view to identifying and mitigating technical and business risk.
- Demand Management: Manage the Demand Management process for IT services, guiding people from initial request through to implementation of the requirement, acting as a liaison point between the requestor and the IT teams.
- Configuration Management: Ensure that all IT assets and services are accurately recorded, all inter-dependencies are mapped, and all records are kept up to date. Configuration Management controls the data recorded as a step in the other three processes and provides reliable data, so those processes work in an effective and trustworthy manner.
Technical
- Experience in Service Transition and/or Change Enablement.
- Intermediate technical knowledge of data networks, laptops/desktops (hardware and OS), servers (hardware and OS), VMs, storage devices, Oracle SQL servers and databases, Active Directory, Azure.
- Understanding of the software development and release lifecycle.
- ITIL Foundation (v4) certification.

- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with a diverse set of stakeholders.
- Attention to detail on documentation and data entry.
- Ability to explain technical details in plain English.
