The opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity for an IT Trainer to join our small but dedicated IT Team. The role will be a hybrid role, with a mixture of home and office working, working mainly in our Bath office but also supporting the other Stone King Offices, so occasional travel to other offices will be required.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a variety of software training and application support services to all Stone King staff and outsourced support teams. They will be responsible for embedding and developing the Competency Based Training framework to deliver a consistency of approach to learning and development which meets the requirements of the entire firm.Other responsibilities will include organising and delivering new starter training, providing ad-hoc assistance to meet training requests on an individual or team basis and planning and executing the training requirements for new projects and technology roll outs.
The successful candidate will provide a mix of virtual, classroom, 1:1 and e-learning training as well as the creation of a variety of training materials. The successful candidate must be able to deliver quality training on a variety of software programs including Windows 11 and Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and other applicable Microsoft software like OneNote).

Key responsibilities
General duties include, but are not limited to:
- Delivering training and support to end users on firm-approved software and applications through various methods, including Microsoft Teams, classroom sessions, and one-on-one instruction.
- Delivering training and assistance to end users on firm approved hardware such as laptops, iOS mobile devices and multi-functional devices (copier/scanner/printer).
- Collaborating with IT and the wider business to identify training needs and develop consistent, engaging resources that support effective learning.
- Preparing training documentation such as guides, training handouts and other ad-hoc supporting materials as such as IT Hints and Tips.
- Utilising the firm's Learning Management System to administer training programmes.
- Ensuring training programmes are communicated to all offices as appropriate.
- Providing end-user support by answering any "How To" queries which are raised via the IT Service Desk System.
- Active participation in the Early Adopters group to assist with testing new software and understanding the training requirements prior to live deployment
- Participating in the planning and implementation of end-user software and hardware upgrades.
- Involvement in testing of new software products/releases, processes or general improvements.
- Support the firm's strategic objectives by identifying process overlaps and developing efficient procedures and communications to streamline operations and meet the needs of various teams
- Assisting with special projects on various issues as needed.
Essential
- Two years' experience in software training within a professional services environment (a legal background would be an advantage)
- Experience of using and providing training for Microsoft Office 365 and Windows 11
- Strong capabilities in using and training in Microsoft Office products and in particular Microsoft Word
- Attention to detail and the ability to prioritise workload effectively
- Excellent communication skills and confident with public speaking and presentation
Desirable
- Experience with any of the following software would be advantageous: iManage Work 10, PDF Docs, 3E MatterSphere, 3E Elite, BigHand, DocuSign
- Experience in developing training resources in eLearning Authoring Software such as Articulate.
- Expose to AI tools and systems such as Microsoft Copilot or other application-based AI modules
- Any training qualifications or accreditations such as Microsoft Certified Trainer certifications, ideally for Word, Excel, and/or Outlook
