IT Support Specialist (ITSS)

Location: Strasbourg, France
Contract Type: Freelance 6-12 months (long-term)

*Urgent 6-12 Month Contract*

This is a.Strasbourg* based role with an excellent immediate start within a global technology brand working on ensuring high-quality service delivery to end users in a structured, regulated setting

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist (ITSS) to join a large-scale government IT environment. The successful consultant will provide first and second-line support, ensuring high-quality service delivery to end users in a structured, regulated setting.

This role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, excellent communication abilities, and the autonomy to operate in a fast-paced, user-facing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Service Desk Agent, Incident Analyst, and Problem Analyst
  • Provide first and second-line support (remote and on-site)
  • Analyse, log, track, and resolve incidents, service requests, and problems
  • Maximise first-call resolution rates
  • Participate in PC environment setup, reconfiguration, and installations
  • Document operational procedures and create technical content for the knowledge base
  • Test and administer business applications
  • Liaise with system administrators and database administrators when required
  • Support service desk operations and cover related support duties when needed

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional IT support experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with:

Windows-based end-user environments

Microsoft Office applications

End-user hardware and workplace IT setups

  • Good understanding of mobile device platforms and core mobile applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently in a structured IT environment

Certifications

  • ITIL v4 Foundation certification (mandatory)
    (If not held, certification must be obtained within 3 months of contract start)

Languages

  • English and French (written & spoken) - mandatory
