Job Description:
Estio Training is thrilled to offer a new opportunity for an IT Support Engineer Apprentice for a premier supplier of alarm monitoring systems based in York.
Role Summary:
The vacancy will initially involve training in all the aspects of a software supplier from the writing of the code, through testing, to the distribution and support of the application.
Key Responsibilities:
As an IT Support Apprentice your main roles and responsibilities will include:
Initially the candidate will undergo a mixture of training and on the job experience.
The position is based solely in the support department but will liaise with the development department.
Key responsibilities will be:
- Interface directly with our customers in a professional and courteous manner.
- Provide support on a product which monitors life and property.
- Integrate into an established team of IT professionals.
- Assist in internal infrastructure work and manage projects.
- Follow a contract to supply a new Sentinel system, meet each requirement, install, configure, train users, and support the system until go-live.
Qualifications:
- Educational Requirements: Grade 4/5 or above in English & Maths GCSE
Skills Required:
- Windows or Linux operating systems
- SQL Databases
- Networks
- Virtualisation
- Hardware building and configuration
- Application Support

- Personable and intelligent.
- Ability to communicate clearly and deal with complex problems.

Training to be provided:
Estio apprenticeship programmes are delivered virtually by experienced trainers, focusing on modern technology skills directly applicable in the workplace. Successful apprentices will receive coaching, guidance, and an accredited Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, covering topics such as infrastructure management, automation, system support, and compliance standards.
