Job Description

AS IT Service Continuity Product Manager (ITSCPM) you will ensure Allianz can recover IT Systemsto agreed SLA's by mitigating the risk of crisis/disaster events to an acceptable level through planning and testing of IT service recovery.

You will own and manage the integrity of ITSC services ensuring;regular testing is performed as per Allianz Group Policy, own remediation of any findings, ensure continuity requirements and capabilities are regularly reviewed/assessed and contribute to the design of continuity mechanisms in conjunction with other Allianz IT teams such as Architecture, exploit new technology capabilities to further enhance Allianz's ability to recover.

Reporting into the Head of IT Product - Core IT services and own the IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM) function within Allianz UK IT.

Salary Information

Pay: Circa £82,000 per year.

Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

Responsibilities

  1. Input to the design and lead on the implementation of the continuity and resiliency strategy across the UK organisation.
  2. Work closely with business stakeholders, IT/IS colleagues and Allianz Technology to continually assess the organisations resiliency and recovery capabilities against organisational goals and external standards.
  3. Own the ITSCM Strategy and the design and delivery of a rolling 5 year DR Test Plan including the transition to intrusive (live DR) testing.
  4. Keep abreast of industry trends and advise on opportunities or threats within the continuity space.
  5. Where relevant, act as sponsor or key project stakeholder for ITSC implementations.

Management activities

  1. Set the short- and long-term priorities for the IT Service Continuity within the UK in conjunction with relevant stakeholders.
  2. Manage governance of Allianz Technology as the internal provider of IT continuity and recovery services.
  3. Ensure all Allianz IT staff involved in service continuity incidents are aware of their duties and have access to relevant information.
  4. Collaborate with IT Architecture, Application, Infrastructure Support, Protection & Resilience, and facilities teams to design cost-effective continuity mechanisms aligned with business targets and standards.
  5. Regularly test preventive measures and recovery mechanisms as per the 5-year DR Test Plan, ensuring timely delivery of test plans, schedules, documentation, and reports.
  6. Work closely with the Protection and Resilience Team to update Business Impact Analysis documentation.
  7. Create and oversee Cloud DR test plans.
  8. Develop value cases for new technologies to improve business resilience.
  9. Own the resolution of test defects and apply lessons learned.

Common Activities

  1. Recruit staff as needed and maintain performance management and development procedures.
  2. Monitor and report on the IT budget and service delivery.
  3. Partner with colleagues across various functions to deliver ITSC activities effectively.
  4. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.

IT Risk and Controls

  1. Manage IT risks and controls for ITSC services, including remediation of audit findings.
  2. Keep the IT risk log updated, with risks assigned and mitigated.
  3. Participate in governance sessions to review risks and controls.

Budget and Cost Control

  1. Monitor and report on the ITSC service budget.
  2. Manage expenditures within the approved budget, seeking approval for additional costs.

Experience

  1. Expertise in relevant professional areas to achieve results.
  2. Experience in IT operations within insurance or similar markets.
  3. Knowledge of IT risk management, vendor governance, and outsourcing practices.
  4. Experience operating at a senior level in a regulated, outsourced IT environment.
  5. Proficiency in managing third-party ITSC services, including offshore and internal stakeholders.
  6. Ability to negotiate and gain stakeholder buy-in.

Technical Skills

Role Specific

  1. Knowledge of regulatory requirements like FCA, DORA.
  2. Experience with ISO 22301, ISO 27001, and NIST 2.0 standards.
  3. Understanding of BCI Good Practice Guidelines.
  4. Risk management expertise for control and prioritization.
  5. Understanding of enterprise architecture, cloud, and on-prem infrastructure.
  6. Knowledge of backup, storage, virtualized environments, and cyber-resiliency strategies.

  2. Masters degree and professional qualifications (BCS, CII) are desirable.
