An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IT Development and Applications Support Officer in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to join our Information Development team at Hampshire County Council.

The Role:You will be working as part of the Information Development Team, primarily involved in GIS integrations.
You will focus on the support and maintenance of GIS applications and integrations including new and existing systems using technologies including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, FME, SQL Server and Python.
What you'll do:You will be working in a 3rd level development and support team, involved in administering and maintaining the GIS platform and other information development projects. The role will be varied and will support GIS applications across the business including highways, planning, countryside and social care. You will also be responsible for maintaining the corporate data catalogue ensuring data accuracy, cleanliness, and accessibility. You will work closely with GIS users across the business to promote the platform and ensure standards are adhered to.
What we're looking for:- You will have experience of working in an IT development environment, creating and maintaining GIS and mapping applications, as well as providing 3rd line support for geospatial applications. You will have strong technical proficiency in GIS software, and a methodical and organised approach to data management
- You will be a self-starter, willing to take the initiative, with good analytical skills, and strong communication skills
- You will have the ability to identify, analyse and solve problems in a logical and effective way
- You will be able to absorb information quickly and understand new technologies/solutions
- You will be willing to learn, be determined and adaptable with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
