IP Design Engineer (3-Month Rolling Contract)
Location: Madrid, Hybrid
Contract: 3-Month Rolling
Role Summary
The IP Design Engineer is responsible for driving network architecture and design across IP/MPLS, cloud, and mobile network environments. The role supports business transformation by delivering scalable, secure, and future-ready network solutions across the organisation.
Language Requirement
Fluent English and Spanish communication skills are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead IP network architecture across LAN/WAN, MPLS core, cloud networking, and virtual network platforms.
- Produce and manage High-Level Designs (HLDs) aligned to business and technical strategy.
- Work closely with CTO, Product, and Infrastructure teams on long-term network roadmaps.
- Provide technical leadership on SDN, NFV, cloud-native networking, and service chaining.
- Support and mentor network engineers and design teams on complex solutions.
- Define network standards, design principles, and reusable architecture patterns.
- Review new technologies and vendor solutions to support network evolution and innovation.
- Participate in technical governance, design reviews, and architecture assurance activities.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with service provider routing, MPLS, BGP, and multi-tenant network environments.
- Proven background in both traditional and cloud-based networking including OpenStack, AWS, and Azure.
- Good understanding of modern architecture approaches including APIs, microservices, and DevOps integration.
- Knowledge of enterprise security, segmentation, and resilient network design.
- Experience with automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible, Python, Netconf/YANG, and REST APIs.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and technical documentation skills.
Preferred Certifications
- CCIE, JNCIE, SRA, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- TOGAF, AWS Solutions Architect, or similar architecture certifications preferred.
