Job Description
Hoofddorp, Netherlands Hybrid (3 days in-office) At United Legwear & Apparel Europe B.V. (ULAC), we're proud to partner with globally recognized fashion brands including Scotch & Soda, Skechers, Hurley, PUMA, and Ted Baker. We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Business Controlle r to join our Hoofddorp office and take ownership of our inventory accuracy across Europe. This role is essential to keeping our operations running reliably - and as our business continues to grow, there's room to shape and develop the function further. Your Role & Responsibilities Inventory Control & Stock Accuracy 
- Maintain accurate stock levels across replenishment, seasonal, and non-seasonal product lines.
- Keep product master data and inventory information updated in the ERP system.
- Investigate stock discrepancies, conduct root-cause analysis, and support corrective actions.
- Monitor aged, excess, and slow-moving stock, propose actions to improve stock health and reduce write-offs, and share insights with Sales to support sell-through strategies.
- Manage and process cycle count results in the ERP, validating and reconciling discrepancies.
- Coordinate cycle counts, annual stocktakes, and ad-hoc recounts with warehouse teams.
- Ensure stocktake procedures are documented, consistent, and continuously improved.
- Work closely with warehouse operations to strengthen stock integrity and accuracy.
- Conduct regular inventory analyses to assess stock accuracy and overall inventory health.
- Prepare clear reports and dashboards on KPIs, ageing, turnover, and operational risks.
- Support Finance with month-end close, stock valuations, and audit requirements.
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities related to inventory and procurement.
- Provide accurate stock insights to support forecasting and revenue planning.
- Flag inventory risks early (e.g., delays, excess stock, ageing stock, accuracy issues).
- Ensure the correct stock insurance coverage is in place for new partners or product categories.
- Recommend actions to reduce write-offs and protect stock value.
- Suggest simple, effective process improvements across the inventory workflow.
- Support basic contingency planning for supply chain or stock availability disruptions.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years' experience in stock control, inventory management, planning, or supply chain operations (fashion or consumer goods preferred).
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data.
- Experience with ERP/inventory systems (SAP preferred; Exenta is a plus).
- Understanding of stock valuation, financial processes, and budgeting.
- Fluency in English; Dutch is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with warehouse, logistics, sales, production, and finance.
- Comfortable being the primary point of contact for all stock-related questions.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Analytical and solutions-focused, with an interest in improving processes.
- Able to work independently while staying closely connected with cross-functional teams.
- Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
