About the Role

Leeds City College is recruiting for an experienced SEND professional to join our Preparation for Adulthood (PfA) team as an Intervention Support Coach.

This role will lead through a matrix management approach across Luminate FE colleges for the placement and support of students with Educational Health Care Plans. Provide intervention and wellbeing support for learners with needs, enabling them to participate, progress, achieve and enjoy a fully inclusive college experience.

What You Will Do
  • Keeping accurate and timely logs and other records, as required.
  • Support with student wellbeing in the department and provide support for other members of the team.
  • Ensure all paperwork, mandatory training and documentation is kept up to date and in line with statutory requirements.
  • Support the department to provide outstanding and robust support to SEND learners in order to meet individual needs as outlined in their EHCP.
  • Support intervention strategies aligned to areas of specialism in order to strengthen the subject knowledge of staff.
  • To attend meetings as and when required.
  • Contribute towards audit and compliance of evidence required for all aspects of SEND support.
  • Engage in CPD and training in order to develop pedagogical knowledge within your own specialist area.
About You
  • English and Mathematics at Level 2 or above and a willingness to improve in one or both disciplines to level 3 or above.
  • Qualification relevant to the post.
  • Relevant experience, knowledge and understanding of working in the sector around supporting young people with SEND.
  • Compassionate, resilient, and patient individual with a strong commitment to inclusion and a belief in discovering potential.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, build positive relationships, and passion for supporting children with SEND and behavioural needs to thrive in their learning environment.
