Position Overview: The International Trader will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to expand our market in Western and Eastern Africa. This role requires a dynamic individual with a proven track record in international sales, particularly within food sector (dry goods, frozen meat, fresh fruits and vegetables), and a deep understanding of the African market. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve growth targets in Western and Eastern African markets.
  • Identify and establish relationships with key distributors, retailers, and other potential partners.
  • Conduct market research to understand consumer preferences, market trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms of sale with clients and partners.
  • Monitor and analyse sales performance, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional activities and campaigns tailored to the African market.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and standards in all trading activities.
  • Travel to target markets as required to build and maintain relationships.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, International Trade, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in international sales, specifically in food products, beverages or FMCG sectors.
  • Proven experience in the African market, with a strong network of contacts in Western and Eastern Africa.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of French or other local languages is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Work permit in the Netherlands.
