We are seeking a Business Area Manager in East EU and CIS (based in Europe) to join one of our clients in the pharmaceutical sector. The position is based in Barcelona and offers a remote work model.


Your Mission: Responsible for sales in Eastern Europe and CIS countries, managing a portfolio exceeding €20M. The role focuses on maximizing current business, identifying and securing new opportunities, negotiating and closing contracts, and defining go-to-market models tailored to each country. The ideal candidate will develop and manage strategic partnerships while ensuring regulatory and commercial alignment across the region.


Key Responsibilities


- Sales Strategy: Define short- and long-term strategies, conduct market analysis, prospect and identify new business opportunities, select the most suitable partner per country, and ensure achievement of sales targets.

- Customer Management: Maintain strong relationships with current clients through regular visits and meetings, re-negotiate commercial terms, and manage issues related to shipments and client claims.

- Market Expansion: Identify, negotiate, and close new agreements with existing and new partners to open new markets.

- Financial Oversight: Monitor sales performance and budget, analyze results, and report findings.

- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with Supply Chain, Intellectual Property, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, and R&D to ensure alignment and execution.

- Business Models: Define and implement suitable partnership frameworks (e.g., Distribution Agreements, Supply Agreements, Co-Marketing Agreements).

- Distributor Performance: Conduct business reviews with partners to align with annual objectives and market strategies.

- Budgeting & Planning: Lead budget and mid-range planning processes.

- Brand & Profitability Management: Manage product positioning and pricing strategies to maximize profitability and competitiveness.



Ideal Background & Qualifications


  • University degree in Sciences or Business. MBA or Master's degree is a plus.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in FDF commercialization within Eastern Europe and CIS regions.
  • Solid experience in financial planning, business cases, pharmaceutical sales, and marketing management.
  • Fluency in Russian and English. Spanish is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical mindset, results-driven, proactive, empathetic, and flexible.
  • Hands-on attitude, with a team-oriented mindset and positive outlook.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and IQVIA data analysis tools.
