Interim Management Accountant

Are you an immediately available Management Accountant or Finance Analyst with strong Excel skills? Are you confident posting journals, completing reconciliations and supporting a busy month-end process? Are you comfortable joining a large, complex organisation and quickly getting to grips with your own area of responsibility?

Robertson Bell is recruiting an Interim Management Accountant to join the Finance team of a major not-for-profit organisation on an initial six-month interim basis.

Working as part of a large Finance function, the successful candidate will take ownership of a defined area of the accounts and work closely with colleagues across the wider team. This role would suit someone self-motivated who can pick up new processes quickly, investigate issues and deliver their work with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and posting journals as part of the month-end process.
• Completing balance sheet and other account reconciliations.
• Working with financial data in Excel to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Taking ownership of allocated areas of the accounts and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Supporting wider management accounting and financial analysis as required.
• Working collaboratively within a large Finance function where different teams and individuals own different elements of the overall accounts.

The role will be worked on a hybrid basis with two visits per week to the attractive and modern London office.

To be considered, please meet these criteria:

• Previous experience in a Management Accounts role in which you've been relied upon to deliver without significant supervision.
• Confidence posting journals and completing reconciliations independently.
• Good Excel skills and the ability to work confidently with financial data.
• A self-motivated approach, with the ability to understand new processes and take ownership quickly.
• Comfortable operating within a large and complex organisation.
• Immediately available or able to start at very short notice.
• Accounting qualification is ideal but actively studying part qual/finalists may still apply.
