Job Description

Interim Finance Business Analyst

Up to £550 p.d.

6 month contract


Pearse Professionals have been engaged by a multi-site retail organisation to appoint a hands-on Interim Finance Analyst to support a major finance transformation programme.


This is a practical, delivery-focused role for someone who brings strong core finance skills, a good understanding of finance systems and processes, and a real appetite for change and improvement. You'll play a key part in shaping and embedding transformation across the function, working closely with finance leadership, project teams, and operational stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the roll-out of new finance systems and tools across workstreams including purchase ordering, supplier income, and wider finance operations.
  • Lead on data cleansing and validation activities to ensure accurate transition and minimal disruption.
  • Collaborate with project managers, IT teams, and external vendors to align technical delivery with business needs.
  • Support or lead UAT and testing phases, ensuring outputs are thoroughly validated before go-live.
  • Assist in documenting processes, designing financial controls, and creating training materials to support smooth adoption.
  • Identify inefficiencies or pain points in current workflows and suggest practical, scalable improvements.
  • Provide hands-on operational support during critical finance cycles such as month-end, to ensure continuity.
  • Contribute to stakeholder engagement and change readiness by offering feedback and guidance during transitions.


Candidate Profile

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a solid grounding in financial operations, controls, and reporting.
  • Experience supporting finance change initiatives or transformation programmes within a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong systems understanding-with exposure to ERP platforms and planning tools
  • Proactive and pragmatic, able to work independently while engaging cross-functional teams.
  • Confident managing competing priorities in an evolving environment, with a focus on delivery and detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work with finance and non-finance stakeholders alike.
  • Experience in testing, data migration, or system rollouts would be an advantage.
