I'm seeking an experienced Interim Cost Estimator to support a portfolio of high-value infrastructure projects in the nuclear and wider energy sector. Working on behalf of a leading consultancy, the successful candidate will provide immediate commercial and estimating support across the full project lifecycle - from early-stage feasibility through to detailed design and delivery.
This is a freelance / contract role outside IR35, suited to an individual who is immediately available and has a proven track record working on complex construction or engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities:Produce robust and defensible cost estimates for major energy infrastructure and nuclear projects (new build, decommissioning, power generation).
Liaise with internal teams and client-side stakeholders to understand technical scope, delivery methodology, and project objectives.
Provide input to cost risk analysis, sensitivity studies, and contingency assessments.
Support procurement activities with cost-based input into tendering and contractor evaluation.
Substantial experience as a cost estimator, quantity surveyor, or commercial lead in large capital projects.
Track record of delivering on major infrastructure or industrial schemes in the nuclear or energy sectors.
